A Sincere Invitation
Welcome
Welcome to the repurposed Jesus Revisited website dedicated to recruiting like-minded evangelicals to bring Jesus back to church and kick politics out of the sanctuary. I hope we can do it with civility and the leading of the Holy Spirit. When I began this website years ago it was a discipleship resource for people seeking a deeper connection to Jesus. I have since migrated that content to ChaplainShawnMinistries.org.
Everything changed for me after the January 2025 presidential inauguration. Watching the president swear allegiance to the Constitution without placing his hand on either of the two Bibles the First Lady held was shocking enough. But recalling how he had orchestrated an attack on the very building where he stood, and against the Constitution he swore to defend, was simply too much.
As applause rang out when he articulated actions and policies blatantly contrary to the gospel, it became clear: we are at a crossroads. Morality and civility have been sacrificed on the altar of political power, and far too many Evangelicals have strayed from the teachings of Jesus.
This is a Wake-up Call
Over the next four years, I am committed to challenging my Evangelical and Pentacostal brothers and sisters to reflect deeply on how our pursuit of influence has corrupted our witness, compromised our faith, and revealed new depths of hypocrisy. It’s time to confront the uncomfortable truth: in chasing political power, many have abandoned the gospel—and the One behind the Good News.
The Time for Silence is Over
The time for silence is over. Join me in this mission to reclaim the heart of our faith. I will be posting short videos to this site. To read my longer pieces, please go to my Substack.

The Heart of Christianity
80% of undocumented immigrants are Christian.
And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. (1 John 4:21)
Why aren’t America’s churches standing up for our Christian brothers and sisters?
You cannot stand on the sidelines cheering as those seeking a better life in America are being victimized and still believe you are more than a Christian in name only.
How Do You Like Him Now?
Saving Democracy
Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.
3 John 1:11
Dear Christians
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
1 John 4:20 |ESV
Christ or Caesar?
“This world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.”
1 John 2:17 | NLT
Not Christmas
“Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.”

“Christianity stands or falls with its revolutionary protest against violence, arbitrariness and pride of power and with its plea for the weak. Christians are doing too little to make these points clear rather than too much. Christendom adjusts itself far too easily to the worship of power. Christians should give more offense, shock the world far more, than they are doing now. Christian should take a stronger stand in favor of the weak rather than considering first the possible right of the strong.”

“The tendency to claim God as an ally for our partisan value and ends is the source of all religious fanaticism.”
“Man’s capacity for justice makes democracy possible, but man’s inclination to injustice makes democracy necessary.”

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out-because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out-because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out- because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me-and there was no one left to speak for me.”
Lesslie Newbigin
The victory of the Church over the power which was embodied in the Roman imperial system was not won by seizing the levers of power: it was won when the victims knelt down in the Colosseum and prayed in the name of Jesus for the Emperor.
